about

Aksana Khan

Producer whose work has been featured in Time Out, BBC News, and on their mum’s fridge.

You’re in the right place if you’re looking for a project manager who uncompromisingly centres a warm approach in getting things done, ensures clear communication in everything they do, and knows what it’s like to work with different resourcing at local, regional, and national levels.

What I do is:

  • facilitate partnerships that are wellbeing informed for both participants and staff
  • produce events and programmes – the “Aksana” magic is focusing marketing and programming strategies to drive participation, footfall, and engagement
  • project evaluation – I work with teams to understand key metrics, devise the methodologies, and write up the reports
  • marketing and comms from website management, social media strategy, content creation, copywriting, and press.
  • plan and deliver workshops ranging on topics such as inclusive practice, financial wellbeing, and more
  • make niche memes and watch a lot of TV

What’s my boundaries? You should know that:

  • I’m a born and bred Londoner but adopted West Midlander (since 2012). I regularly work on location.
  • Taking a leaf out of Gen Z’s books, I now work reduced hours during Ramadan, don’t work during Eid and for a week in mid-November (as that’s my birthday week!)

What’s going on for me at the moment? (last updated March 2025)

  • I’m currently doing freelancing comms for Selina Thompson Ltd. Fave highlight so was getting their new mid-scale show Twine on the BBC Breakfast Show!
  • I am on the 3rd cohort of the New Museum School Advanced Programme where I am studying remotely and part time for an MA in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester.
  • My books are open for work.
